Enrollment

Knox County Schools assigns students to schools based on the address of the family's primary residence. Students who are zoned for Bearden High School and attended a Knox County middle school for 8th grade are automatically enrolled. 

Enrollment for students who are new to the district must completed in person by a parent or legal guardian. The following completed forms are required:

  • Request for School Records Form
  • New Student Enrollment Form
  • Student Medical Profile
  • Home Language Survey
  • Tennessee Parent Occupational Survey

The following documents may also be needed: 

  • Proof of Birth: Government-issued Birth Certificate, passport, immigration documentation.
  • Immunization Records: The student’s Tennessee Department of Health Immunization Certificate (shot record signed by the child’s physician or county health department). Visit the Knox County Schools Immunization page for more details.
  • Recent Physical Examination: Proof of a physical exam within one year of enrollment
  • Proof of Residence: One of the following—gas, water, or electric bill. If the utility bill and/or lease agreement is in the name of someone other than the parent/guardian, that individual must provide the utility bill and/or lease agreement, along with a notarized letter confirming that the parent/guardian and children reside at the address.
