The Academy of Business, Leadership, and Communications offers students the opportunity to explore and pursue pathways that focus primarily on business and prepares students for careers in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating functions essential to business operations. In addition, through our Leadership, Humanities and Communications programs of study, students may pursue coursework and experiences that direct them toward careers in government service, public policy, journalism and law.

• Business Management – The Business Management pathway provides students with a strong foundation in essential business concepts. The coursework emphasizes strategic leadership and practical skills for effective business operation and management.
• Entrepreneurship – The Entrepreneurship pathway empowers students to cultivate the skills necessary for conceiving, launching, and marketing original business ideas by providing knowledge and skills tailored to the start up environment and authentic business settings.
• Humanities – The Humanities pathway emphasizes the interdisciplinary analysis and exchange of ideas to better understand and interpret personal and societal human experiences. Coursework is broad and can include the study of history; ethics, philosophy, and religion; modern and ancient literature, languages, and communication; government and law; and fine and performing arts.
• Marketing Management – The Marketing Management pathway guides students through foundational marketing functions, encompassing promotion, distribution, and selling. Emphasizing the integral relationship between marketing strategies and overall business success, students gain insights and skills essential for navigating dynamic markets and contributing to the success of businesses through effective marketing practices.

Across all four pathways, students can earn dual credit, gain industry certifications, and participate in work-based learning and entrepreneurship experiences, ensuring they graduate ready to lead, innovate, and thrive in the business world.

The Academy of Health & Human Sciences and Services focuses on those pathways and careers that provide healthcare and services that address the general well-being of individuals through nutrition, social work, and counseling. H2S2 also includes Teaching as a Profession, which allows students to explore the foundations of teaching and learning, preparing them for employment in childcare or postsecondary work toward teacher licensure.

• Diagnostic Services – The Diagnostic Services pathway equips students to describe new and evolving diagnostic technologies, compare and contrast features of healthcare systems, explain the legal and ethical ramifications of the health care setting, and develop foundational healthcare skills.
• Human and Social Sciences – The Human and Social Sciences pathway provides comprehensive instruction covering health, social services, and communication. Students will study societal dynamics as well as human nature, behavior, and relationships.
• Sport and Human Performance – The Sport and Human Performance pathway integrates exercise science; anatomy and physiology; physics; chemistry; bioenergetics; and kinesiology to help students develop skills to assess, monitor, and optimize human performance by focusing on the practical impact of exercise, nutrition, and rehabilitation on patients and clients.
• Teaching As A Profession – The Teaching As A Profession pathway is designed to prepare students for employment in careers that relate to the planning, managing, and providing of education, training, and learning support services. Coursework covers instruction; human development; student learning; special populations; classroom management; teaching strategies; lesson planning; assessments; technology; and professionalism.
• Therapeutic Services – The Therapeutic Services pathway focuses primarily on helping students understand the concepts that improve physical, mental, and emotional health status over time. Coursework focuses on the delivery of services pertaining to the identification, evaluation, and prevention of a disease or disorder through treatment, and counseling to help students develop a foundational understanding of movement mechanics, anatomy, and physiology. Communication and interpersonal skills are also covered.

The Academy of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and the Arts is designed for students interested in pathways of study and careers in the high-demand fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Additionally, the Automotive pathway offers students with strong mechanical ability to pursue careers in automotive repair, automotive collision, and aviation repair. Students may leave this pathway with industry certifications that qualify them for immediate employment or further study.

Lastly, our STEMA academy houses our Fine Arts department. Within this pathway, students not only develop their talents related to the visual and performing arts, but cultivate creativity, innovation, effective communication, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial mind-set. 

• Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair – The Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair pathway enables the exploration of professional service technicians. Content emphasizes transportation service and workplace success skills as students study engine fundamentals and the safety procedures; tools and equipment; and shop operations necessary to perform essential automotive repairs.
• Coding – The Coding pathway is designed to help students build a strong foundation in computer programming fundamentals. Coursework emphasizes standard programming techniques and tools used to create sophisticated computer applications. Students will learn to write, analyze, review, and revise programs; code detailed workflow charts and diagrams; and troubleshoot/debug programs.
• Data Science – The Data Science pathway is the study of data to extract meaningful insights, combining principles and practices from the fields of mathematics, statistics, artificial intelligence, and computer engineering to analyze large amounts of data. Data science uses algorithms, processes and procedures to uncover hidden patterns, generate insights to guide decision making.
• Digital Arts and Design – The Digital Arts and Design pathway was developed to help students develop the creative and critical thinking skills necessary to create comprehensive multimedia projects and three-dimensional designs using industry-standard software. Coursework will cover principles of design as well as research; professionalism and ethics; and business and project management.
• Engineering – The Engineering pathway is designed to introduce core engineering concepts and practices. Students will learn and apply the design process and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The importance of effectively communicating design solutions to others is also covered.
• Fine Arts – The Fine Arts pathway offers interdisciplinary courses aimed at helping students develop a conceptual understanding of the visual and performing arts. Students can pursue a broad range of experiential learning opportunities in dance, digital media, music, theater, and visual art.
• Advanced Math and Science – The Advanced Math and Science pathway focuses on providing students with an in-depth understanding of mathematical concepts and scientific principles and aims to equip students with important analytical and problem-solving skills.
